Audrey of Audrey’s Costume House smiles at the magical Halloween memories
Audrey Perrett is a bit of a celebrity in her golden years of retirement. Kingston man earns first workplace award
A Kingston man who is new to Canada has been recognized for his work caring for residents at a long-term care home in Amherstview. “I love working here with everyone,” admits Aaron Medrano, a 38-year-old Personal Support Worker (PSW) at Helen Henderson Care Centre in Amherstview. “I like the teamwork. Jennifer Sears was deep into her career as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) when she decided to switch gears and become a Dietary Aide. Couple celebrates 70th wedding anniversary
Peter Davy had just turned 22 years old in 1953 when he married the love of his life. 70 years later, he reflects fondly on that day. “She was gorgeous,” says the friendly man about his then 19-year-old wife, Carol. “She’s a lovely person; the nicest person I have ever met. Santa and wife to arrive by horse drawn sleigh Dec. 22
A popular nursing home in Amherstview is expecting a special visitor this December who is going to arrive in a unique way. Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to arrive at Helen Henderson Care Centre in a horse drawn sleigh on Dec. 22. They will be dropped off around noon and will spend the day visiting residents and staff. There will be a photo area in the home for pictures along with hot apple cider and homemade cookies. New Dietary Aide wins workplace award
In the five months Jordan Carter has been working at Helen Henderson Care Centre, she has made a noticeable impact. Starting as a Hostess at the Amherstview home last January, Jordan was quickly promoted to Dietary Aide and then named Employee of the Month for May 2022. Speaking for the home, Food Service Nutrition Manager Shaun Stephenson notes, “Jordan is a light in the kitchen. She’s a great person; very upbeat.
