Two retirement homes in South East Ontario are showcasing their award winning programs and services at an open house this fall.

Carveth Retirement Lodge in Gananoque and Helen Henderson Retirement Lodge in Amherstview are opening their doors to the public on Sept. 24 from 1 to 4 pm.

This Fall Open House is part of a province-wide initiative by the Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA) to showcase services for people looking for assisted living. The open house will also introduce residents and dedicated & dynamic staff.

Featuring the taste, sound and beauty of Canada, the Fall Open House will feature warm apple cider, fresh cinnamon buns and entertainment by local musicians. Admission is free and open to everyone.

“This open house is a great opportunity to showcase the outstanding lifestyle people can enjoy in retirement,” says Brett Gibson, Administrator of Carveth Care Centre. “From delicious food to clean rooms, comfortable surroundings and compassionate health care, our retirement homes help people live well, enjoy life and stay active.”

“We hope the community takes advantage of this opportunity to tour our retirement lodge and meet our friendly staff,” adds Angela Gibson, Assistant Administrator.

“This Fall Open House is a great way to taste the delicious food prepared in our kitchen and enjoy the spectacular entertainment we have on a regular basis. As a family run business, we truly understand the importance of family and meeting the needs of each individual.”

Managers and team members will be on-hand to guide visitors through the layout to fully appreciate the living space such as the dining room, common areas, activity rooms, living quarters and more.

Guests will also have the opportunity to meet residents, families, volunteers and members of the community.

“The Fall Open House is a perfect time to drop-in and discover an environment that meets your current requirements as well as your future needs,” explains the Administrator “We want the community to see what makes our retirement homes special.”
